Job Summary
Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting at our AFC Urgent Care Stamford location. This role supports a fast-paced clinical environment and works directly with a franchised business location. Specific duties and benefits may vary by location.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patients for examination
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
- Ensure all ordered tests are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Administer medications and treatments according to approved protocols
- Perform venipuncture and prepare specimens for reference lab and/or in-house processing
- Conduct laboratory testing, quality controls, and equipment maintenance per written procedures
- Respond to lab messages and patient call-back requests
- Perform drug screening procedures in compliance with established regulations
- Administer and document immunizations according to approved protocols
- Coordinate physician referrals and obtain service pre-certifications as needed
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
