Essential Functions
- Prepare and position the patient for X-rays and explain procedures to patients to obtain cooperation
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of the body as requested by the provider.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Prepare images for reading by provider as well as contact any additional physicians if a second opinion is needed.
- Complete forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Perform other medical assistant duties as requested by the provider
- High School diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences and Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) OR NCT (Non-Certified Technician) license in Texas.
- Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
- Positive customer service skills.
