AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. 
 
Job Summary
American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Center hires a Full-time X-Ray Tech/Medical Assistant to perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases for a brand-new location (www.afcurgentcare.com/agoura-hills) in Agoura Hills.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Perform full-scope X-rays according to license.
  • Take and develop quality x-rays within the scope of practice.
  • Practice patient shielding and ALARA standards.
  • Keep an accurate log of exams performed.
  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations.
  • Clean exam and X-ray table, bucky, and room after each patient.
  • Advise the Clinic Administrator if supplies are running low.
  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies and regulations.
  • Follow guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Treat patients and co-workers consistent with the AFC Mission statement, Vision, Values, and Performance Standards.
  • Performs the essential functions as defined as by the appropriate Skills Competency Checklist and other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.
  • Follow set office protocol as directed by the Center Administrator and healthcare provider.
  • Maintain high ethics and accept responsibility for actions.
  • Practice excellent patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, including shredding any patient information.
  • Bring patients from the waiting room to an exam room promptly.
  • Obtain and document all applicable patient visits.
  • Notify the physician of patients ready for an exam, room number, vitals, and chief complaint.
  • Observe and communicate changes in the patient’s condition to the provider on duty.
  • Assist physicians with any exams, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision.
  • Clean and dress wounds according to physician instructions.
  • Apply splints as directed by the physician.
  • Administer various IM and SQ medications and immunizations under the physician's direction.
  • Maintain clear, appropriate and accurate documentation.
  • Perform venipuncture with physician orders. Complete lab paperwork, use proper collection techniques and, collect appropriate sample amounts in proper media, package specimens appropriately for transport. Call for a courier to pick up specimens.
  • Proficient with oxygen therapy, EKG, and AED.
  • Participate in completing the daily checklist, as well as any assigned duties and tasks necessary to maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Check all supplies and medications, including sample medications for expiration, monthly.
  • Performs CLIA waived back office tests: COVID RAPID, strep, influenza, pregnancy, blood glucose, and UA dips. Maintain quality control and documentation.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training. ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred. Licensed per state regulation. In some states, Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic certification is acceptable.
 
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
